This video allows viewers to look at fireworks, a Japanese summer tradition, across the seasons as if they were gazing up at the stars.
This video is the first full-dome educational video work in the fireworks industry, showing the history and technology of fireworks accumulated over 400 years since the Edo period.
With HIBANA as the main character, this video unravels the story of fireworks through live-action footage and CG animation.
It is a cutting-edge production designed as a full-dome surround video featuring typical Japanese fireworks and 5,000 fireworks launched from all directions in 360 degrees.
Capturing the viewpoint from "directly below" the fireworks, which only pyrotechnicians can enter for safety reasons, enables a new visual experience.

This work was entered in Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2022.

日本の夏の風物詩である花火を、季節を超えて、まるで星空を見上げるように鑑賞する。
江戸時代から400年以上をかけて積み重ねられてきた花火の歴史と技術を伝える、花火界初のフルドーム教育映像作品。
主人公ヒバナを軸に、実写映像とCGアニメーションによって、花火の物語が紐解かれる。
日本の代表的な打ち上げ花火のみならず、全天周映像用に設計された360度全方位から5,000発が打ちあがる最先端の演出花火の実写は、保安上の理由から、花火師以外は決して入ることができない「花火の真下」からの視点をとらえ、全く新しい映像体験を可能にする。
